Relational Sandtray Therapy In the Playroom

Sandtray is an effective method of not only engaging clients of every age but of helping them to tell and witness their story using the sandtray.  This workshop will expand on basic sandtray knowledge and focus on using Sandtray Therapy to explore relationships.  We will use the sandtray and miniatures to examine relationships to self, others, within an intimate relationship, family of origin and extended family relationships.

Relational Sandtray is used to deepen the understanding of the process and perspectives of others so that we develop empathy for those differing perspectives. The relational Sandtray assists in deepening our internal relationships with ourselves and of those we are in relationships with so that all gain the ability to navigate our different perspectives with greater attunement to one another.

Participants will be asked to come prepared to do their own sandtrays as well as bring a client scenario to use as an exploration of the relationship issues that may be present.  This is a highly experiential and interactive sandtray experience.  We will incorporate guided meditation and centering as adjuncts to Sandtray Therapy. Basic sandtray is strongly recommended before attending this workshop.
