The way families interact and communicate has been dramatically transformed by the advancements made in technology and the use of personal electronic devices. With these advancements has come dangers such as; disengagement, poor communication, bullying, harassment and addictive behaviors through gaming to mention a few.
This workshop will focus on examining these problems as well as others through the lens of the Integrative Family Play Therapy model. Participants will be introduced to new strategies and play therapy interventions to help families have a healthy and safe relationship with technology. We will examine the differences between cyberbullying and cyber harassment as well as the laws that support anti-bullying ideas. This workshop will incorporate expressive arts with play therapy to provide participants with tools they can easily apply to their own practice.
